I was criticized for not posting lately.

It takes so long for the silly pictures to upload.

Here are some from the hoedown on Friday night with the Phi Lambs.

Mmmm... Rudy's!!

Thanks to Malisa (below) for this awesome thrift store find.

A student just pointed out that on my facebook profile, I list my location as being Norman, TX. Apparently my subconscious can't imagine living in another state.

Sometimes you don't get it

Monday, October 16, 2006
"Pawluk (1989) asserted that although teasing may be mildly irritating, it nevertheless builds social bonds. The irritation at being teased stems from the target feeling put on the spot, or having a flaw uncovered; but the fact that the teasing is a playful act between friends signals that the irritating elements should not be taken seriously, and it thus neutralizes the negative component of teasing comments. In addition, teasing can actually strengthen the relationship by establishing roles, showing a certain level of familiarity between individuals, and defining the interaction as involving a "joking relationship" of a desire to have such a relationship (when the friendship is new). The teasing may also strengthen bonds by showing that the individuals are close enough that teasing would be tolerated (Baxter, 1992). So although it might be somewhat irritating at the time, teasing is essentially expected to have positive consequences for in-group relationships." -Teasing: for superiority or solidarity? Blue Man Group

Saturday, October 14, 2006
Tonight the fam went out to see The Blue Man Group here in Dallas:

Unfortunately, they wouldn't allow cameras inside the arena. So I have no cool pics from the show. But here is my delightful family.

First was dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. There might be no better meal on this earth. The house wine is my absolute favorite, Robert Mondavi Merlot, so of course we got a bottle since Jeff is even of age now :) Then Angel Hair with Shrimp and luscious cheesecake with strawberries.

BMG was at AA Center which was fun (NBA preseason this past week!!). The seats were decent. The concert was much different than the off-Broadway show we saw five years ago. It was more of a rock concert here as opposed to performance art slash improv comedy like in NYC. It was fun seeing and remembering their signature elements like marshmallow throwing and mouth paintball art. They tried doing this text message element to the show where they sent you text messages during the show as part of an enhanced experience. It ended up being annoying, but I think the idea has potential.

Overall a nice evening in Big D. Back to Norman tomorrow.
