Top Ten Video Games

01. Final Fantasy VI - SNES: My favorite plotline of any game ever. I walked in on my brother playing and wanted to know what was going on. He was only at Narshe, so he offered to start over and we could play it together. I was blown away. The music also rocks.

02. Halo: Combat Evolved - XBOX: This needs no explanation. I had two guy friends in high school that constantly played and were short of friends, so they dragged along a sorry girl who could hardly hold the controller correctly. I loved the multi-player competition and ended up buying an XBOX (or, as I called it, a Halo-playing machine) in order to get good enough to beat them.

03. Zelda: A Link to the Past - SNES: Another fun storyline with plenty of side-plots and adventures. I loved full-health sword swish beam. And I love blowing the flute to take me across the world.

04. Lemmings - SNES: Awesome puzzle game with green-haired guys who died in delightful ways.

05. MarioKart - SNES: My brother claims that I bullied him so much that he would lose on purpose when we played. It makes sense, since I won almost every time and he has clearly always been my superior when it comes to gaming.

06. Super Mario World - SNES: Jumping on huge bullet baddies to knock them away.

07. Dr. Mario - NES: Tetris-like game that I played at my grandparents house. Kill the germs!

08. Yoshi's Island - SNES: Pooping out eggs and shooting them at the badguys.

09. Final Fantasy IV - SNES: I only played through this one in college. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

10. Contra - NES: The coveted Spreader gun turned my brother and I against each other.

Runners Up
Paperboy - NES
Joe and Mack - SNES

For my buck, you can't beat Mario Cart 64. This game changed my life. And my sleeping habits.

Contra is a super classic too.

And Indian Jones and the Fate of Atlantis? Brilliant!

O-M-G

...a new OURUF-ian to make me feel better about my gaming addiction.

So many Nintendo titles, though... I guess the RPGer, to this day, thrives on the SNES. But, where do you find the time?

Doug and his boys enjoy a good RTS. We've had a couple LAN games. Perhaps we should spark this back up upon your arrival.

Looking forward to having you around!

I just have to say... amazing list. Especially the FFVI being #1... I'm quite impressed.

Oh, and don't listen to luke... World of Warcraft + internship is bad... No, seriously, don't do it.

I haven't played FFVI, but the hype sounds great. Oh, and I am glad Link to the Past made the list; looks like we can still be friends. Halo is great, too, although I multiplayer is a lot more balanced and fun on Halo 2.

Great to know you like games, though!

Clint - The high number of nintendo games is probably due to the fact that in high school/college I didn't have time or access to the new gaming systems as much as before. My xbox purchase was my reentrance into the gaming community...

John - I agree with the nix on the WOW during the internship... my brother and father let that game take over there lives way too much...

Norman - YES we can still be friends. Halo 2 is much improved, but unfortunately I have never been able to play it much because my group of Halo-playing-friends all fizzled soon after it came out. And I am not much of a Halo solo-er or online player or anything...
